Get REPT

Most functions in Excel are used to calculate a return value, but the REPT function is unique because it can do two things: calculate a return value or create a mini bar chart.

The REPT function is typically used to repeat a character a specified number of times, but it can also be used to create a mini in-cell bar chart that represents values.

To create one of these charts, enter “|” as the text argument and the value you want to visualize as the number_times argument. Then, select the column where the bar charts will live and change the typeface to Stencil for an easy-to-read graphic.

REPT bar charts are a simple and effective way to compare values in a range. Note that the length of the bar chart will automatically update if the data changes.
