Stacks on Deck 📊

Working across multiple data tables in Excel??  If you’re still combining them by using copy and paste, you need to meet the VSTACK function 👋.  The VSTACK function is a fun new Excel function that combines and stacks arrays vertically into one handy table.  All we need to do is enter the data we want to stack into the function as our array arguments, and that’s it!

Check out the gif above for an example:  we’ve got three separate department tables, and each table contains the respective department’s employee names.  We need to combine these all into one master employee list so we can easily reference everyone.  To do this using VSTACK, first we’ll just select the cell where we want our new table to start, enter VSTACK, and enter each data table separated by a comma as the array arguments.  Now all we need to do is enter the function, and the tables are instantly combined!

The best part of VSTACK is that its results are dynamic; if any of the data points in the source data changes, those changes will be automatically updated in the combined table!
