Take a picture, it’ll last longer 📸

It’s easier than ever to import data into Excel with the Picture Tool.  Haven’t heard of her?  Let me show you!  The “Data from Picture” selection actually allows us to import data from a photo directly into our spreadsheets.  Check out the gif above:  our boss sent us a photo of the data he’d like us to enter into Excel - there’s no way we’re spending our time doing that manually!

To utilize the Picture Tool, all we need to do is select the cell where we want to insert our data, navigate to the Data tab, open the “From Picture” dropdown, and choose the photo we’d like to use from the file selector.  Once we confirm our file selection, a new window will appear - this is the Data from Picture window, and it will show us a preview of the data Excel is pulling from our photo.  All we need to do is quickly review the data preview for any potential errors, and simply select “Insert Data” to magically populate all of this good data into our workbook!

That’s it!  We’re done!  Go take an early lunch!
